Chances are, if you're looking at a fanless Radeon card, you're probably looking into video acceleration of some sort. You need advanced warning that this feature has been broken for over a year on this hardware.Catalyst 11.7, which came out July of 2011, is the last driver that has supported accelerated 3D Blu-Ray playback, which requires nearly twice the CPU resources of regular Blu-Ray playback. Even if you're fine with going back to the old driver, VC-1 acceleration is broken in this driver. Pretty much every Blu-Ray movie that ISN'T in 3D will play so slowly that you're better off DISABLING video acceleration for it.No driver before 11.7 supported acceleration for 3D Blu-Ray movies, and no driver SINCE 11.7 supports the feature. Basically, if you're planning on using this for that feature, as the card was listed on AMD's HD3D page, STEER CLEAR. Go Nvidia, buy an Intel Sandy/Ivy bridge processor, do ANYTHING BUT buy this card.I presented this issue to AMD's technical support in MAY, and August is nearly over. They've repeatedly closed my support requests without fixing the issue or even MENTIONING it in any of the driver releases that have come out in that time span.The only star here is for HIS, which has nice packaging.
