I have a Dell Dimension E520, Intel Core2 Quad Q6600, with 8 gigs DDR2 PC2 6400 RAM, a GeForce GT240, and running Windows 7 x64. I wanted a new video card that, first had to fit in the single PCI-E 16x slot on my mobo. It's directly behind the cpu cooler fan housing, and therefore, limits the length of the card I could buy.Secondly, in these Dells, the PCI-E slot is the highest slot on the mobo - no slot sits above it so a two-slot video card won't fit. The slot below is a PCI-E 1x, so no joy there.Thirdly - my Thermaltake power supply is only 430 watts, so the population of new cards for me to choose from got even more reduced in quantity unless I dropped some more bucks to upgrade my power supply. Again.A previous reviewer of this card said it fit in his Dell 521, so I knew this would fit in my 520. Knew that my 430 watts would power it. Learned it was the only single slot card that would give me DX11 and high end features. And now - a Galaxy GTX 550 ti is now running in my PC.I haven't tried to overwhelm it with any game that demands "ultimate power" from a video card. Running HAWX and Dungeon Siege III at all the highest settings is no problem at all. GPU-Z says the video card temp doesn't break the 70C mark, even after a long session of gaming. Nice, since I'm still using the stock Dell cooling fan for my CPU and case.The card is quiet under load, NVIDIA drivers are easy to update, and this 550 ti can be overclocked to more than 15% higher than factory settings if I feel the need for more speed.Oh - my WEI went up from 6.8 to 7.3 in the video categories. An appreciable bump!Very happy so far...
