01/25/2012I purchased this card for a friend. I installed it and let me just clearly say that this card is HUGE!!! If you don't have a big case, and I mean big, it won't fit.Cons: The card is so big that the weight of it causes the card to sag and put stress on the pci slot. As graphic cards get bigger, manufactures need to find a way to support the card better. After I installed this card, I could not get anything to display. I tried three displays and all of them said "No Signal" even during POST. I then switched from dvi to vga. I then got the card to work. It didn't make any sense, and I thought that we got a bad card. After installing Nvidia drivers, and rebooting I switched back to dvi and it worked. It still doeskin make much sense, but the card it working now. The warranty on this card is only three years. I did not know this until I registered it for my friend. You can pay to add additional warranty time when you register it. It doesn't make much sense why EVGA only offers a three year warranty on a 520$ card when a single 560 ti card has a lifetime warranty.Pros: I haven't had much time with the card, but I did play a little Crysis in Devmode to see how it ran. Average FPS was ~45 on very high settings. My friend told me that he likes it, and hasn't had any complains.All-in-All: If it was me, I would not have spent this much on this card. Sure its great, but you could just do SLI with two 560 TI's and you would get the lifetime warranty. The performance may not be as good with SLI, but I'm sure its negligible.03/14/2012My first review I gave this card a 4 star. I'm now changing it to a 1! My friend used this for three weeks and then it died. And I dont mean iit gave us problems, or just a black screen but it actually shorted out and burned up. Before it shorted out, the case temp alarm sounded at 55c. My friends case is cooled well with plenty of 140mm fans, and he is water cooling so I knew it was the card. I then checked to see it the fans speed changed when the card was being used, the fan speed never changed and the card hit 95c! However, before I could exit Crysis, the card shorted out, sparks flew off the PCB and the computer shutdown. I guess this is why they don't give you a lifetime warranty with this card. So I RMA'd it for him. EVGA makes you jump through hoops just to get an approval, and they don't email you, they just post the RMA status to your EVGA account. We are still waiting for the card. After my friend has gone through this with EVGA, not to mention the other EVGA cards that we have had problems with in the past, him and I won't be be buying their products anymore. I recently upgraded my card and went with XFX.04/10/2012So, we got the new/refurbished card back about two weeks ago and all is well. Card it running good, frame rates are high, and there was one more thing...oh yes, it hasn't overheated or shorted out...yet. My friend likes the card, but he is a little worried about the temps so he bumps up the fans before playing games. When he does this, it keeps the temps quit low for a card, around 60c. Nothing much else can be said of this card so hopefully this will be the end of my review.
