I only saw the other review after my order was on the way, and was a little nervous! Glad to report that I am quite happy with this. This went into a fairly cheap emachine computer with 2G regular memory and I think a 2.8 single core processor. I already had put in an Nvidia 8400GS with 512 mb onboard memory, which was adequate for most of the games I play.This definitely kicked up the performance. Windows Experience: desktop graphics went from 3.8 to 4.2 and gaming graphics from 5.1 to 5.9. Doesn't sound like a lot, but I could tell the difference immediately. Half Life Two Ep.1 had absolutely no video stuttering even in the most intense sequences through the opening several sequences, and it was running at higher specs (self-setting).The only thing that holds me back from giving a full 5-star rate is that it is purely passive cooling; it has a nice deep heat sink but no onboard fan (as the Nvidia did). Yes I knew this, but I still consider it a slight drawback. To help compensate for the fact I have no a/c, I have a small box fan set up behind the computer and rack of external drives to help keep things cool, so I don't expect this will be an issue, but you may want to keep this in mind if you're going to have this set up in a warmish place.This is now a very solid game machine at a very low price, thanks to this card, and will go to the kids when my weapons-grade gaming monster comes in next month!
