I bought this video card to use with Linux and it works great. I'm on Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 (squeeze). I run stable but I use the kernel, X, and drivers from the backports repository. Kernel version is 3.2, X server is 1.10.4, and I am using the proprietary nvidia driver version 295.59.Installation was easy. I am running a dual-head setup. I disabled my motherboard's built-in video; otherwise, it would be visible to the operating system, which tried to use it. I enabled TwinView in my xorg.conf file, which allows X to see the two displays as if they are one. Your window manager will see them as Xinerama displays, which works well with my FVWM setup. Twinview allows both displays to be used with hardware acceleration (otherwise only one will get hardware acceleration.) So far I have only tried this with glxgears and with the Google Maps OpenGL interface, which is quite nice.One really nice thing about the card is the passive cooling; most of the dual-output cards out there have loud fans on them. Perhaps this card would not work well with gaming--I have no idea, as I don't game. It is great for productivity and basic hardware accelerated rendering though. If this works with Debian stable, which is notorious for being old, you shouldn't have any problems with more rapidly updated distributions like Fedora or Ubuntu.
