My desktop is an HP P6130F which was a low priced PC with lots of capability. 8GB of RAM, and a Quad 64-bit AMD CPU running Windows 7, but the graphics were on-board and used shared memory. I was disappointed with the video behavior. When running a streaming video or DVD it would skip and jump if the computer was otherwise busy. This shouldn't happen with a computer such as this; the problem was in the shared memory.I don't play games (we have a PS3 for that) but do a lot of photo editing and often watch streaming video. I wasn't looking for a high powered video card to run heavy requirement games. I was looking for something that would simply spiff up the video performance for a reasonable cost. This did the trick.I opened the PC cabinet, inserted the card, and closed the cabinet, then moved the DVI cable from the on-board graphics connector to the Galaxy 210 connector. I then ran the included CD to install the drivers. One reboot and it was done. Quite simple.It works better than I thought it would. Apparently the shared memory activity was doing a lot more harm than I realized. My downloads, photo editing, and many other behaviors have improved noticeably.The HP p6231f is a very quiet computer. When I installed the Galaxy 210 the noise doubled. It is still very quiet but there is a noticeable increase in noise coming from the computer. It is driving my 24" BENQ LCD display through the DVI connection (would use an HDMI if I had one) and the display is neither better or worse than before, still looks great.There is a long list of what games would run excellently, fairly, good, or not recommended in the included documentation. That should be available on line before purchase but I didn't look for it. If you intend to run games you might seek that list first. Any serious gaming would require a better graphics card and quite a bit more money.One of my restraints was the HP p6130f only has a 300W power supply. I was pleased that many of the graphics cards are in boxes which show the required minimum power supply capability. This one indicated 300W.If you're looking for a PCI-E GPU upgrade from a shared memory CPU I'd recommend this one. The 3-year warranty is a good feature too.Pros: Faster graphic performance than my previous shared RAM hardware, great priceCons: At this price none. It is a quiet card but did add a little rushing sound to my otherwise very quiet computer.
