I bought this card to improve HD streaming on my SageTV based PVR. And it works wonderful for that. I can now record 4 HD TV shows, and watch smooth live or recorded TV. My antiquated radean x550 produced choppy streaming whenever recording 2 or more HD programs.When I was shopping for this card, one of my primary criteria was card that fit into 1 PCI slot. This card is advertised as a low profile PCI express card that only requires 1 mount. However, the dual fans stick out and take up the slot immediately below.If I wanted a card that takes up 2 slots, I would have bought the more powerful GeForce GT 240 or GeForce GTS 450.Other thoughts: the noise level is average, very high end performance, much more than I needed for my PVR.
