The reason I chose this card was for the aftermarket cooler, which is very very quiet compared to reference and other cards. Chris  |  3 reviewers made a similar statement
The heat sink is pretty damn big. Yatta!  |  1 reviewer made a similar statement
Speed increase is comparable to CUDA while offering a little better quality. Su Sun

I got this card for $299 during an HIS promotion period. Just three weeks later AMD announces price cut for HD7K cards. Still I don't feel bad since the price after the cut is also $299.The card performs well in games. After five years I finally maxed out in Crysis. However it fails to maintain 50+ framerate in BF3 with Ultra presets. In Close Quarters maps framerate easily drop to sub-40 range which results in perceivable lag. This is quite disappointing since an old Fermi GTX570 does better job. What it can offer while an older card definitely cannot is ultra low power consumption. While official rated TDP is 190W, you will probably never see this card eating that much. I'm not an overclocking guy but I go for the opposite: undervolting. Stock voltage is 1216mV and the lowest possible load voltage is 1156mV so there is a 60mV room for undervolting. That doesn't sound much but it actually saves 30W! Overall system power draw in Furmark is 200W with a 3.6GHz quad-core Ivy Bridge and 80+Bronze PSU, you can see just how power efficient 28nm cards are.If you do overclock, this card serves well. 1200/5000MHz is no problem at stock voltage (which is better than reference). However you will stop there since the highest load voltage is locked at 1216mV unless you do some volt-modding.What HIS is really proud of is the cooling system. I strongly agree with such claim and to be honest this is the best VGA cooling solution out there. It is a hybrid of blower and open air configuration. Most of the hot air is expelled by the blower while some circulates into the case. Result? As cool and quiet as an open air cooler while not affecting other components significantly. Max temp in Furmark is 69C during which the fan spins at only 1900rpm.Next is what I'm not pleased with. AMD has been bragging about just how much improvement they did with GCN architecture for computing. This card immediately blows my excitement away after launching F@H. With the latest GPU core16 it yields only 7000ppd. My 8800GTX gives 5K and that is a 6-year-old card, FYI a Fermi card yields 20+K. What's worse it brings down CPU speed from 25K PPD to only 12K PPD. Until there's a core optimized for GCN I will stick to SMP.VCE is another new feature in HD7K cards but just as the older APP solution, it fails to impress. Speed increase is comparable to CUDA while offering a little better quality. But it is definitely not on the same level as Quick Sync.Bottom line: it is a nice performing mid-range graphics card. It runs most of the games at 1080p smoothly, is very cool and quiet and saves your power bill. However just like previous AMD cards it lacks some bonus features offered only by NVIDIA. If you don't mind that is not a problem but since I do, one star deducted. With GTX660/Ti around the corner I'd say waiting for the nVidia counterpart is a wise choice at this time.P.S. as you are probably aware of, the cooler occupies 3 slots and is 11.25'' long so some motherboards and cases may not accomodate it.
